Faith Church Dyer: 100 W. 81st Ave. – SpringHill Day Camp will be held at Faith Church’s Dyer Campus from July 18 to July 22. The event is for children who have completed kindergarten through 5th grade. The day camp will offer lessons integrated into activities and will feature highly trained staff. Van Buren Missionary Baptist Church: 2585 Van Buren Street, Gary; Tree of Life Missionary Baptist Church: 2323 W 11th Avenue, Gary; Church of the Great Grace: 269 W 57th Ave., Merrillville – Two state conventions will be held in northwest Indiana during the week of July 11-July 14, with President Raymond C. Dix Jr. and the Convention of General Missionary Baptist State (GMBSC) of Indiana Inc. and Reverend Anthony Pettus and the Original General Missionary Baptist State Convention (OGMBSC) of Indiana, Inc. hold their 101st annual sessions.
The GMBSC will meet at Tree of Life Church in Gary, its youth department will meet at Van Buren MB Church in Gary and the OGMBSC will meet at Greater Grace Church in Merrillville. Joint services will be held at 9 p.m. July 12 at Greater Grace Church and 9 p.m. July 13 at Tree of Life MB Church. For more information, call 219-810-3900.
Living Hope Church: 9000 W. Taft St. — A “Refresh” women’s event with Living Hope Church will be held at 6:30 p.m. on July 15, where women will have a night of worship, a powerful message, after-party dessert, gifts and girl time. University of Valparaiso: 1509 Chapel Drive – The 40th anniversary season of Lutheran Summer Music began at Valparaiso University on June 27 and will conclude with Eucharistic Festival services on July 24.
The 2022 LSM season includes 170 countywide students and 30 nationally recognized faculty members. Performances include ensembles of varying sizes, ages and musical styles as well as individual performances and small group ensembles.
