Bolay will open at Birch & Broad

The fast-casual chain, Bolay Fresh Bold Kitchen, is gearing up for a September 1 opening at Birch and Broad with another in Gainesville on September 8. They are the first to open in the Greater Washington area. Based in Palm Beach Gardens, Fla., John Horvatinovich, former chief operating officer of Jose Andres’ ThinkFoodGroup, will oversee the rollout. The Falls Church location is currently recruiting for the September opening.

Jake’s Ice Cream Recognition

Opened in August 2021 in Falls Church, Jake’s Ice Cream has employed more than 20 adults with special needs and has recently garnered some media attention. Owner Robin Rinearson named the business after his nephew, Jake, 29, was sent home from a job with 17 other disabled young adults when Covid hit. Inspired by Jake, she quit her job at an optometry practice in Bailey’s Crossroads to open the ice cream parlor. The first employees came from his patient base. The brand’s slogan is “Crafted with Pride by Loving Hands”.

End of Google’s old free G-Suite Business

Earlier this year, Google announced that small businesses on its “legacy-free” G-Suite plan will no longer be able to use its personalized email service and other workplace apps for free. If billing is not set up by August 1, Google will suspend the user’s accounts and associated email addresses. While they expect the monthly fee, around $6 for each business email address, to be minimal, some small business owners object to the move, saying Google is forcing them to pay for a service. which they have enjoyed free of charge for more than a decade. GDI awarded $908 million contract

General Dynamics Information Technology Inc. (GDIT) has been awarded a $908 million contract to support US Air Forces Europe on computer and network systems managed by the 764th Enterprise Sourcing Squadron at Ramstein Air Base, Germany. This covers the modernization and support of existing infrastructure, networks, systems, operations and maintenance, cybersecurity and the management of new requirements and emerging technologies. This work will be carried out at facilities in Germany, the UK, Italy, Turkey and other European countries. This contract consolidates critical services under a single contract for greater speed, flexibility and accessibility of IT services.
