Police search for suspects behind Douglaston church burglary – QNS.com

Police in the 111th district are asking for help in identifying three suspects who broke into the Sainte-Anastasie church in the early hours of Friday morning August 26.

According to the NYPD, the suspects broke into the church around 1:45 a.m. on August 26 by forcing a back door.

Upon entering the church, the crooks stole a safe, credit cards and approximately $125 in cash before fleeing in a light-colored SUV, heading south on 245th Street.

Police released surveillance photos of the suspects on Sunday evening.

Located at 45-14 245th Street in Douglaston, Saint Anastasia Church was founded in 1915 by the Reverend Francis J. Uleau. The first church was built in 1918, with the first mass taking place the following year.

QNS has contacted Saint Anastasia Church and is awaiting a response.
