Why the Church Needs to Focus More on the Message of Redemption – Taiwo

David Taiwo, leader of the Eternal Gospel Believer Association Africa Zion (EGAAAZ), who began his pastoral work in Pentecostal Christian Mission (CPM), spoke about the state of the nation and the Zion African Redemption Festival, celebrating the essence of redemption. Excerpts from SEYI JOHN SALAU:
What is EGBAAZ?
Egbaaz’s vision is a vision from the past to the present and for future generations, which is to hold fast, for it is a heritage to be owned, built, propagated and promoted, across the world, for it is the vision found from the word of God concerning the destiny of man that is hidden. It is not a question of a denomination but of an association of believers of various Christian origins; a common goal of reviving the mandate of our faith fathers and helping others fulfill our God-given destiny. God told me that it is a debt to the Egba people and Africa if they do not set up a missionary foundation tabernacle, for their legacy to fulfill their destiny to the nation of Africa and to the whole world ; to take what they have received from other nations, to put an end to the appointment of the gods of the earth and to establish the kingdom of heaven on the earth.
In your opinion and in relation to everything you have said; What about the state of the Church in Nigeria?
We are at the end of time and over 100 years ago there was a prophecy that Nigeria will be a corrupt nation but in time a revival will spring up and this is what we pray for. This revival will sweep our country. God reserves Nigeria for one purpose. We are relentless in promoting unity within the body of Christ and in training missionaries for the advancement of the kingdom. However, my concern is that the church today has become a center for problem solving and not a place to raise heaven-ready kingdom sons and daughters.
Why do you think the Church has assumed this responsibility, far from its primary vocation?
The church focuses on the problem of people and that is why there are many programs that focus on war. That’s why people move from mountain to mountain and God is against it. People go to church for the sole purpose of solving their problems and matters concerning salvation, holiness, steady walk with God, devotion to God and his words are pushed to the back burner. Individual churches and people may call for a revival, but the revival that will spread across the land is coming, and we must mobilize more Christians for this great revival. As the Bible tells us in Matthew 24 and Luke 21. The coming of Christ is imminent and the church must be awake and must not ignore the stratagems of the enemy. We cry for the church to return to the old landmark. Mere religiosity will not lead anyone to paradise.

Why should the church focus more on the message of redemption?
It’s important because it’s the only hope. Before the coming of Christ into the world, religion was here on earth but religion cannot save because the law of nature since the day of Noah cannot save man from speaking less of divine law. When Jesus came into the world, he did not touch people’s religion, however, they were the ones who kept boasting about their religion because they think he wants to affect or change their religion. Therefore, it is the redemption that Christ made for us and that is what gave us victory, and Christ’s victory gives us deliverance. It is redemption that gives us the freedom to live for God here on earth. Without the redemption of Christ, we will be in competition with other religious groups and this can make citizens look like vegetables. Thus, many people go to church but they are not saved, sanctified, not supported by the power of the Holy Spirit and are not transformed. Christianity is a principle that changes the course of destiny and helps us discover our identity and helps us access our heritage. Christianity produces sons and kings. Religions do not really transform man. Man is the target of the devil; our sworn enemy, the devil can give you the whole world to remain his captive. The devil tempted Jesus and told Jesus to turn the stone into bread, bow down to him and he will give Christ, the whole world. The devil can give everything to man and he does it to renegotiate his destiny. Man is the image of God and of God, anxious to have children; He created everything for us.
The most discussed topic in Nigeria today is the Muslim-Muslim ticket by the APC; what is your opinion on that?
We will invite all aspirants to come, we will pray for them. The Bible says that it is man who proposes, and God disposes. God will choose for us. The Muslim-Muslim ticket is not a problem. God can use anyone. God used Cyrus to bring Israel back to the promised land. He was a king of the good guys. Jesus said that all righteousness is accomplished. To satisfy diversity in Nigeria, it seems that both religions should be represented at the helm of affairs. See it in a humanistic way. Christian-Muslims should be included but to see it beyond that, you won’t worry. Ours is to pray that God will choose for us. Some people are vessels of honor and others of dishonor. Some are kill ships and some are deliverance and rescue ships. God will choose which one he will use. It has to do with what God wants to do at any given time. Let’s come to the side of God. When he returned, he asked the people who were on the side of the Lord. Celebrating defeat is too much of a part of our religious cycle, not the celebration of victory which is love, joy and power in the Holy Spirit that God has given to the church.
